KidRealm Camps is owned and operated by me, Rob Ramirez-Thompson. I have been an elementary school teacher since 1992. I have directed summer camps in Arlington County since 1993. I am a graduate of Virginia Tech University and live with my wife and five children in Chantilly. KidRealm is a family run business as my sons Robby (George Mason University senior) and Michael (Freedom High School senior) are counselors as well.
I always look forward to the summer because I enjoy the challenge and the fun of running KidRealm Summer Camps. What makes our camps unique is my vested interest in making your child's camp experience better each year. During the school year, I operate after-school enrichment programs and day camps. In this way I am able to test and hone new activities year-round. Most activities are created just for our camps and this makes for an experience you will not duplicate anywhere else.
The best part of KidRealm Camps, of course, is your kids! It's great to see them return year after year and see them grow in creativity and enthusiasm. The campers can always count on a high energy, fun, and exciting place to come each summer to make new friends, meet up with old ones, and see what's new in the Realm.
As a school teacher I believe in organization, time management, and creating a safe, fun environment where kids of all ages and levels can participate with success. I hand-select my staff and hire mostly teachers or former KidRealm CIT’s. I choose volunteers who are prior KidRealm campers. A great staff makes a great camp. I spare no expense in supplies, games, and prizes. I want our camps to be some of the best in the county.
